About Me
My Background
Hello.
I am currently a High School Junior as of June 2021 that is interested in continuing to teach middle and high school students in a variety of subjects as well as pursuing a medical career in the near-future. I attend Harborfields High School and I am both an active learner in Harborfields courses and a participant in a number of Harborfields activities. Such activities include the Spanish Club and the Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, HACO Food Pantry, Math Club, and more. As well, I am on the Varsity Track and Field Team. With all that said, I am extraordinarily dedicated to my education and find excitement in sharing my expertise with others.
My Expertise
Subject-Based Courses
As of June 2021:
- I have taken three math-based regents courses (along with pre-HS math), including Algebra I (93), Geometry (100), and Algebra II (N/A). Thereafter, I have taken Pre-Calculus and AP Statistics.
- I have taken three science-based regents courses (along with pre-HS science), including Earth Science (99), Biology (98), and Chemistry (N/A). Thereafter, I have taken AP Chemistry and AP Biology.
- I have taken four years of Spanish as a foreign language, including Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, and Spanish 4. Next year, I will have also taken College Spanish.
- For Social Studies, my expertise lies in US History, but I can assist students in preparing for exams in other sorts of Social Studies topics.
- For English, although I cannot assist in book-related activities, I could help prepare for vocabulary and grammar, as well as constructing an essay
SAT & ACT
- I have taken the SAT Examination four times. I have gotten three consecutive perfect scores on the mathematics section. I have also fared well on the grammar portion of the English.
- I have taken the ACT Examination three times. I have gotten a 35/36 on the mathematics section and a 36/36 on the grammar portion of the English.
Past Tutoring
- I have had over 14 students to tutor over the past two years in a number of subjects, however, I primarily specialize in Math and Spanish. I am yet to tutor SAT Math or Grammar, but I am opening the floor to do so in the upcoming year.
Personalized Lessons
Jack Steel Tutoring is based in Greenlawn and thereby primarily focuses on tutoring students within the Harborfields school district, alongside neighboring towns. I offer both online (using google meet) and in-person tutoring for those who are interested in using either method. Most tutoring sessions are done in a one-on-one setting, however I will be offering tutoring sessions for 2+ individuals, as well as teaching preliminary Spanish Classes for children unable to take that course.

My Initiative
Each students learns differently. My goal is to understand the child's needs and expectations within their education and meet it through our tutoring sessions. Each session should and will be engaging and accessible to children of all learning types.
